Fakapale

A Tongan Tradition of Love •   Honor & Celebration

What is Fakapale?

Fakapale is a Tongan tradition of showing love, honor and support during a dance. During the wedding, you may see guests place or toss money toward the dancers—this is part of the celebration.

Want to participate? 💸

Bring some cash! When the dancing starts, feel free to come forward and place or toss money for the dancer. You don’t need to know the culture or the dance—just follow along and celebrate with us!

Don’t be shy. Everyone is welcome to join in!
